This policy describes how WikiSimRacing decides what to publish, how articles are researched and written, and how we keep advertising and affiliate revenue separate from editorial judgment.
Independence
- Editorial decisions are made by our writers and editors. Advertisers, affiliate networks, retailers, and manufacturers have no say in what we cover, how we rank products, or the scores we assign.
- We do not sell reviews, rankings, placements, or links. We do not publish sponsored posts or guest posts.
- We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage. If a manufacturer supplies a review unit under any arrangement, the article says so at the top and the unit is returned or disclosed as retained.
- Affiliate commissions are disclosed on every article that contains affiliate links and on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Research and sourcing
- Specifications come from manufacturer documentation and product pages. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure (for example, peak torque for some belt driven wheels), we say that the figure is unpublished rather than estimate it.
- We consider owner feedback from retail listings, community forums, and long term ownership reports, and we weigh recurring patterns rather than single complaints.
- We do not claim to have physically used a product unless a named writer has, and the article says so explicitly.
- Prices are not written into article text because they change constantly. Product cards show retailer data that refreshes periodically.
Writing and review
- Each article states its selection criteria before presenting products, presents pros and cons for every product, and names who should not buy it.
- We use software tools, including AI assistance, for research organization, drafting, and structure. Every published article is reviewed, fact checked against sources, and edited by a person who is accountable for it. Nothing is published without that review.
- Writers cover the areas they know. Bylines and short biographies appear on articles and author pages.
Updates and corrections
- Every article shows its publication date and its most recent update date. Major roundups are reviewed on a regular cycle, and when products are replaced or discontinued we update the article and note the change.
- When we make a substantive correction, we note it in the article. Readers can report errors at [email protected].
Scoring
Product scores use the WSR Score described on the How We Review page. It is based on verified buyer feedback, applied the same way to every product, and scores are not adjusted for commercial reasons.
